Dog Days

"Our perfect companions never have less than four feet."
-- Colette
Our Scottie puppy, Jasper, is 4 months old. Though we bought him a few summer outfits, Jasper thinks they're horrible--he's all boy. He loves Kong toys (the Yorkies wouldn't spit on them) and a giant stuffed turtle, which he thinks is a fat, fuzzy green puppy. He can fetch a ball like a pro baseball player. No, I'm not bragging one bit. šŸ˜„
He has "met" Gladys, the neighborhood cat, but only through the window. You can see a video HERE, The funniest thing was "Dandelion vs Dog (you can see that video HERE.

The man cave has a staircase and railing that isn't puppy friendly, so Bandwidth affixed freestanding gates to the railing (so Jasper can't squeeze through), and we bought a large, sturdy (see below) freestanding gate for the top of the stairs.

  5. Love the gates! We are currently putting netting around our 2nd floor deck...so our cat "Bowser" can't jump on the rails and fall off. What we won't do for our treasured family members. Jasper is adorable! ;)

    1. I agree--they need protecting. I haven't let Jasper onto the screened porch because I'm too paranoid (the bottom screen doesn't have a rail--the screen is intact, but it's been there a while). I'm looking for a safe barrier. I will look into the netting that you're using for Bowser.

  10. He is such a beautiful boy! I had a lump in my throat, remembering my sweet Higgins, that I still miss everyday. He was such a stubborn little scot, but a sweet snuggly guy too. His kongs were his favorite & we have a comical photo of him walking with one sticking out from under his mustache, looking like a little man with his stogie! Enjoy Jasper!

    1. I didn't think I was quite ready, either. It's a big step after a loss. But a series of events happened last March, and I took a leap. You'll know when it's time, Diane. Things just come together--somehow, someway--and you go with it. xxoo
